Finally! Canadian progressive rock gods Rush are heading to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The prolific trio -- bassist/singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer/lyricist Neil Peart -- formed in 1968 and released their self-titled debut album in 1974. They never broke up, save for a five year hiatus beginning in the late 1990s; and just released their 19th studio album, "Clockwork Angels", earlier this year to rave reviews.

Heart sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson are still fuming over their public spat with Sarah Palin - they were forced to improve their security arrangements after receiving death threats.
The Alone hit-makers blasted the former U.S. Republican vice-presidential candidate after she used their hit song Barracuda in her 2008 election campaign. They issued an angry statement reassuring fans they do not share Palin's political views - but the incident caused some supporters to walk away from the band, and the rockers were later targeted by "crazies".

Concerts Break Out At The DNC and RNC Conventions
Conventions or Concerts?
The month of August brought the U.S. two big music festivals, one in Denver and one in the Twin Cities. Oh, wait, what's that you say? These weren't music festivals, but the Democratic and Republican National Conventions? Interesting. In the past, presidential candidates have used music as part of their campaigns, but never before like this. This summer, the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions crossed politics and music so much that they rose to concert-like levels.

Heart Furious Over Republican's Theme Song
Heart stars Ann and Nancy Wilson have slammed U.S. presidential candidate John McCain for using their hit song Barracuda as his campaign's theme song without their prior permission.
Republican leader McCain chose the song as the theme track for his running mate Sarah Palin - whose high-school nickname was "Sarah Barracuda" because of her forceful style of playing basketball. Fergie Nearly Falls Off 'Today Show' Stage
Pop star Fergie feared she would fall from the stage and into the crowd during a bizarre acrobatic live performance on a TV show on Tuesday. Can Guitar Hero Top Itself?
When the first Guitar Hero was released for the Playstation 2 in November 2005, it was met with both critical acclaim and a lot of buzz: a video game that substituted a simulated guitar for the standard controller? Why, it was unheard of! The game sold a modest 1.5 million copies and was popular enough to launch an entire franchise that has only gotten better with time.
Take, for example, the setlists. The original game, with a mere 47 songs, was composed of almost entirely cover versions. Guitar Hero II, on the other hand, contained 64 songs, four of which were actually recorded by th...

A Man's Point Of View: Top 10 Songs Sung By Women In The Rock Era
To clarify what the "Rock Era" means, there will be no Etta James, Billie Holiday, or Patsy Cline on this list. Basically, it contains the most moving and powerful songs with female vocalists from the 1960s to the present. Now, before you go calling us guys sexist, it's just a simple fact that men, on average, have less female-centered albums in their collections. Try an informal poll of your own, and you're likely to have the same results.

Why Do Some 'American Idol' Stars Succeed While Others Disappear?
Did you ever notice how some contestants who win American Idol seem to fall off the face of the planet after the season is over? Then there are other "Idol" winners who become huge successes. So why does this happen?
There's no doubt about it, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are not only beautiful but extremely talented. Carrie Underwood covered Heart's "Alone" during one of the "Idol" episodes, and it was such an amazing performance that Simon Cowell said to her, "I'm going to make a prediction: you are not only to win this competition, but you're going to sell millions of records...

Country singer Carrie Underwood sung her way into the hearts of America when she was crowned the new American Idol in May 2005. “Not only will you win this show, you will sell more records than any other precious Idol winner,” said judge Simon Cowell after Underwood, 24, performed Heart’s hit song “Alone.”
