The Saturdays' dreams of breaking America have been quashed after TV bosses decided against picking up a second series of the singers' reality TV show.

The British-Irish girl group invited a camera crew to record their mission to find fame across the Atlantic last year (12), and the series, Chasing The Saturdays, premiered on U.S. network E! in January (13).

But the five-piece, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White, failed to attract viewers due to the lack of "drama" on the show and it was pulled by executives after figures slumped to 100,000.

The pop act, which has released four hit albums in the U.K. and Ireland since starting out in 2008, is determined to follow in the footsteps of its male peers One Direction and The Wanted and carve out a huge American fan base.

They have signed a deal with the E! network to star in their own reality series, which will show the five singers on the road, in the recording studio, and at home, according to the New York Post.

British pop star Una Healy is a proud mom after giving birth to her first child.

The Saturdays beauty and her fiancé, rugby star Ben Foden, welcomed a daughter on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter.com to tell fans, Foden wrote, "I am officially a Dad!!!!!! Una an (sic) baby are both amazing and healthy!!!! So proud of them both!"

Healy's band mate Rochelle Wiseman was the first celebrity to congratulate the couple on its big news, tweeting, "Congrats big Daddy!! I cannot wait to get my a** to the hospital! I'm proud of all 3 of you! Can't wait to be aunty."

Pregnant Irish pop star Una Healy had some happy news to share with fans at London's Wembley Arena on Friday - she announced she's engaged to her rugby star beau during the gig.

The Saturdays singer is expecting her first child with boyfriend Ben Foden next year, but is refusing to take time off work and is currently on the band's All Fired Up! trek.

British girl group The Saturdays showed off their brick-laying skills on Thursday by starting building work on a new cancer hospice in the U.K.

The pop stars are supporters of the Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Appeal, and they headed to Birmingham, England to launch the creation of a new center.
