R&B star Mya and supermodel Christy Turlington are celebrating after completing the New York Marathon on Sunday.

The singer and model joined thousands of fellow runners to race across the five boroughs of the Big Apple in the 26.2 mile challenge.

Mya raised funds for the animal rescue and adoption charity the North Shore Animal League - but she knew it wouldn't be easy.

In a post on Twitter before the marathon, she wrote, "I think today might be the most challenging day of my entire life so far. Up for the challenge, but need your prayers & encouragement!"

R&B singer Mya has sparked rumors of a new romance with football star Larry Johnson after they were spotted enjoying a holiday together in Belize.

The hitmaker was photographed soaking up the rays as the former Kansas City Chiefs ace drove her around in a golf cart during a sunshine break in the Central American country earlier this week.

Singer Mya's hopes of winning the new season of hit show Dancing With The Stars has suffered a setback - she needed hospital treatment on Sunday after slicing her foot on broken glass.

Just 24 hours before the new season of the hit show debuts, the star - a pre-show favorite - is hobbling around after a deep gash was stitched up.

In a Twitter.com post, she wrote, "Went 2 the hospital late last night 2 get stitches (sic). Deep cut from glass. Only caught 2hours of sleep but feel great. Must be adrenaline."
