Rocker Slash has been feted for his music skills with the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award from bosses at Guitar International magazine.

The former Guns N' Roses star was given the coveted title as part of the publication's annual awards, which praise artists who "have deepened our passion for our favorite music, as well as entertained and inspired guitarists around the world."

Slash was so pleased with the title, he offered up his thanks in a post on his page.

Axl Rose was handed the key to West Valley City in Utah on Tuesday night an hour into Guns N' Roses' gig there.

Mayor Mike Winder took to the stage and greeted the singer shortly before the band ripped into their cover of Wings' Bond theme, "Live & Let Die."

Duff McKagan is to rejoin his former band Guns N' Roses on tour with his group Loaded.

The bassist, who quit the legendary rock group in 1997, will go back on the road with Guns N' Roses and open for them at two shows with Duff McKagan's Loaded, the band he formed following his departure.

Loaded will appear with Guns N' Roses at the band's concerts in Seattle, Washington on 16 December and in Vancouver, Canada on December 17th..

Rocker Slash is urging fans to sign a petition to save a Los Angeles animal sanctuary from bankruptcy.

The former Guns N' Roses star has pledged his support to bosses at the Wildlife WayStation, who recently fired a third of the staff and are struggling to pay $142,000 in monthly food costs.

They have now drafted a petition asking California Governor Jerry Brown for increased federal funding to prevent closure.

The Beastie Boys Inducted Into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Guns N' Roses, The Beastie Boys, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have all won coveted places in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The bands led the shortlist to join the famed Cleveland, Ohio museum in April, and they have now been announced as the official 2012 inductees along with late singer/songwriter Laura Nyro, Donovan, and the various incarnations of British band The Small Faces/The Faces.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Donna Summer, and Rufus with Chaka Khan were among the acts who missed out on the honor.

The induction ceremony will take place on April 14th.

Rocker Axl Rose has settled a legal battle with former Guns N' Roses manager Irving Azoff over breach of contract allegations.

Azoff sued the Guns N' Roses frontman in March, 2010, accusing the singer of reneging on an agreement to hand him a slice of profits from a big money concert tour.
