Most Important Albums of the Decade
Pitchfork and Rolling Stone and Spin and all those other outlets have their lists of the best albums of the decade, and you know what? I'm going to let them. There's no point in me trying to come up with that list because there were so many great records to choose from. Who's to say that The Strokes' Is This It? was better than Muse's Absolution or any album by Arcade Fire? You can't! You can't! Best albums are invariably marked by an editor's (or staff's) preference in music. But what about qualifying the most important? I can tell you that Bob Dylan's Modern Times was probably the best re...

With that in mind - here are the Ten Greatest Albums of t...

That is, the single became more important than the album. With the rise of mp3 downloads, and the ultra-convenient iPod for playing them back, singles were now the most common way of buying or listening to music. We're on the verge of again seeing artists simply releasing singles, rather than padding them with an additional ten tracks.

With that in mind, here are the Ten Greatest Songs of the decade...

Werner Herzog is the kind of director that Quentin Tarantino used to be. Remember the nineties, when 'Pulp Fiction' had just exploded like a hydrogen bomb in Hollywood, and all of your asshole friends were so proud because they knew who Tarantino was before you ever did?
