Ja Rule Denies Reports Of Rift With Irv Gotti

Rapper Ja Rule has laughed off reports of a rift between the star and his The Inc. label co-founder Irv Gotti, insisting they are "brothers".

The Always On Time hitmaker is alleged to be "furious" with Gotti - real name Irving Lorenzo Jr. - because the rap mogul had pushed back Ja's new album, The Mirror, twice from its original release date of September 18.

And the hip-hop star - born Jeffrey Atkins - is reportedly angry at Lorenzo for deeming the current tracks on the album too weak, according to the New York Post's gossip column PageSix.

Man Drops Ja Rule Complaint Due To Safety Concerns

Ja Rule has had a lawsuit filed by a New Jersey contractor dropped - because the complainant fears for his safety. The rapper - real name Jeffrey Atkins - was accused of failing to pay contractor Joel Tobia the remaining $8,000 balance of a $13,000 bill, after he agreed to fix a bad leak at the star's Saddle River mansion earlier this year.

But in a dramatic U-turn on Thursday, Tobia withdrew his complaint against Atkins, telling Superior Court Judge Roy F. McGeady he was "extremely uncomfortable going forward with this case", reports the New York Daily News.

Rap mogul Irv Gotti wants to emulate the career of the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun - and work until his death. The Inc. boss, real name Irving Lorenzo, has also hailed veteran record label heads like Universal boss Doug Morris and 75-year-old J Records founder, Clive Davis, who both continue to work into their old age.

Rap mogul Irv Gotti's longtime friend Kenneth 'Supreme' McGriff has been sentenced to life in federal prison without the possibility of parole for hiring hitmen to kill two rivals in 2001.

McGriff was spared the death penalty after jurors in a Brooklyn, New York federal court were split on sentencing him to death on Friday.

On February 1, McGriff was found guilty of drug dealing and murder for hire, for paying $50,000 to shoot dead rivals Troy Singleton and Eric 'E Money Bags' Smith.

Rap mogul Irv Gotti's longtime friend Kenneth 'Supreme' McGriff has been convicted in a federal death penalty case for hiring hitmen to kill two rivals in 2001.

McGriff was found guilty of murder for hire and drug dealing in court in New York yesterday after four days of jury deliberation.

The jury will return to court in Brooklyn next Tuesday to consider serving McGriff a death penalty. McGriff faces a minimum sentence of life in prison without parole.

The convict left the court with a chilling reminder of his menace, smiling at his supporters as the verdict was issued.
