Rapper Ja Rule has laughed off reports of a rift between the star and his The Inc. label co-founder Irv Gotti, insisting they are "brothers".

Two new VH1 series will reveal personal journeys of hip hop celebrities Salt-N-Pepa and Irv Gotti on Monday nights beginning October 15.

Rap mogul Irv Gotti's longtime friend Kenneth 'Supreme' McGriff has been sentenced to life in federal prison without the possibility of parole for hiring hitmen to kill two rivals in 2001. McGriff was spared the death penalty after jurors in a Brooklyn, New York federal court were split on sentencing him to death on Friday.
