Brantley Gilbert is an American country rock music singer-songwriter from Jefferson, Georgia.

Gilbert's debut album, “Modern Day Prodigal Son,” was originally set to be issued in 2006 but issues with his then label prevented its release. After signing with Average Joe's entertainment in mid-2009, he finally released the album

His follow up, “Halfway to Heaven,” was released in 2010. “Halfway to Heaven” reached #4 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and #2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. The album’s single, “Country Must Be Country Wide,” reached #14 on the Billboard Country Songs chart.

In February 2011, Gilbert left Average Joe's label to join with Valory Music Group. Gilbert's songs have been recorded by Colt Ford and Jason Aldean.
