Miley Cyrus wanted Gwen Stefani to sing on her track 'SMS'.
The 'We Can't Stop' singer eventually recorded the song with Britney Spears, but had also considered duetting with the No Doubt star or rapper Nicki Minaj.
Sean Garrett, who co-wrote the track, told MTV: "The first name that we tossed around was Gwen Stefani. We were talking about Gwen because you know Gwen got that edge too, but that's how God works. We were throwing around those ideas.

Justin Bieber is aiming to become the next Justin Timberlake and he's hired superstar songwriter Sean Garrett to help reshape his sound.

The teenage pop star is currently working on the follow-up to his hit album My World 2.0. and he's collaborating with Garrett, who has written songs for Usher, Ciara and Britney Spears.

Garrett admits 16-year-old Bieber is aiming for a more grown-up sound on the new record, and they are looking to Timberlake for inspiration.

We spotted Rihanna wearing a long red wig stepping out of her New York hotel today. The singer was on her way to a meeting in Midtown.

Rihanna's new CD, "Loud," is being released on Nov. 16. It's been described by insiders as a return to the uptempo dance grooves of her earlier records.

"Loud," her fifth studio album, is a significant change of pace from 2009’s platinum "Rated R." While much of "Rated R" was a cathartic and dark, "Loud" is relatively lighthearted and geared for dancefloors. Former Run-DMC star Reverend Run has been honored for his contributions to music at this year's BMI Urban Awards.
