Tuesday, June 17, 2014, featured some of the more highly anticipated albums of the year, including new releases from Lana Del Rey (Ultraviolence) and Sam Smith (In the Lonely Hour).

Rock veteran Peter Frampton has suffered minor injuries after he was involved in a car accident on Tuesday.

The "Baby, I Love Your Way" hitmaker claims he was sitting in traffic on a West Coast highway when a female driver allegedly rear-ended his car because she was paying more attention to her cell phone than the road.

In a series of Twitter.com posts, he writes, "Texting woman driver just ran into back of me while I was stationary in traffic 101 freeway. Can u say whiplash? People put the phones down!"

The Motels Sue Over Digital Royalties

The lead singer of new wave stars The Motels has launched legal action against the band's former record label executives over allegations of unpaid royalties from digital sales.

The group, fronted by Martha Davis, signed with EMI's Capitol Records in 1979 and rose to fame with hits like Only the Lonely and Suddenly Last Summer in the early '80s.

However, Davis claims she is entitled to a cut of profits from digital downloads and ringtone sales as they should be considered as tracks that have been "licensed" instead of "sold".

Pop parodist 'Weird Al' Yankovic is suing executives at Sony Music Entertainment over royalties from online record sales.

The Eat It hit-maker claims he's owed millions of dollars in unpaid royalties stemming from downloads and ringtones, according to a federal lawsuit filed in New York on Friday.

He's also demanding profits linked to the viewer hits racked up by his music videos on YouTube.com.

Yankovic is suing for compensatory damages in excess of $5 million.

R&B group Sister Sledge have launched a court battle in a bid to secure lost revenue from their digital music sales.

The We Are Family hit-makers have joined with Oscar-nominated actress/songwriter Ronee Blakely to sue Warner Music Group, claiming they're owed millions of dollars in unpaid royalties.

In their lawsuit, filed on Thursday, the artists claim they have lost revenue due to calculations based on "sales" rather than "licenses".

A beloved guitar Peter Frampton thought he'd lost forever following a plane crash in the Caribbean 30 years ago has been returned to the rocker.

His prized Gibson Les Paul Custom, which he played on his landmark Frampton Comes Alive album was onboard a cargo plane that crashed en route to Panama in 1980, and the guitar great felt sure he'd never see the axe again.

But following an exhaustive search, two fans stumbled across the instrument on the Dutch island of Curacao, confirmed its authenticity and teamed up with local tourism bosses to get the guitar back to Frampton.

Peter Frampton Sues Record Company Over Unpaid Royalties

Peter Frampton is suing bosses at A&M Records for unpaid royalties.

The singer claims he's owed a small fortune from the digital sales of his songs and he's alleging breach of contract and unfair competition in legal papers filed by his attorney Richard Busch, who previously represented Eminem and The Knack's Bruce Gary in similar cases.

The lawyer helped Eminem win a 2010 appeals court decision against Universal and Aftermath Records, which landed him a 50 per cent deal on all digital sales of his tracks.

British-born singer Peter Frampton has credited the events of 9/11 with inspiring him to apply for U.S. citizenship, insisting he felt "very patriotic" after the tragedy.

The "Baby, I Love Your Way" hitmaker moved to the U.S. in the 1970s but admits it was only after seeing the country unite in the aftermath of the terror attacks that he felt compelled to become a citizen.

Rocker Peter Frampton has filed papers to end his 15 year marriage to wife Christina Elfers.

The hitmaker has submitted divorce papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences, according to TMZ.com.

Frampton is asking for joint legal custody of the couple's minor daughter, but wants Elfers to be awarded primary physical custody.

This will be the rock legend's third divorce; he split from Mary Lovett after two years of marriage in the 1970s and ended his 10-year union with Barbara Gold in 1993. Frampton wed Elfers in 1996.
