Fort Minor is a hip-hop side-project of Mike Shinoda, who is best known as being a member of the American rock band Linkin Park. In 2004, Shinoda began recording his side project and his debut solo album as Fort Minor, “The Rising Tied” was released in November 2005. “The Rising Tied” was produced by Shinoda and executive-produced by Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. The album included the hit single “Where'd You Go” which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. The second single was “Remember the Name” peaking at #66. “The Rising Tied” peaked at #51 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
