Foals is an English indie rock band from Oxford. Members of the band include Yannis Philippakis (vocals, guitar), Jack Bevan (drums), Jimmy Smith (guitar), Edwin Congreave (keyboards) and Walter Gervers (bass) They are currently signed to Transgressive Records in the U.K. and Sub Pop in the U.S.

They released their debut album “Antidotes” in March 2008 in the U.K., and April 2008 in the U.S. The album was recorded in Stay Gold Studios Brooklyn in summer 2007, and was produced by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek. However, Foals remixed “Antidotes” in London, complaining that he made it sound like it was “recorded in the Grand Canyon.” It peaked at #3 on the U.K. Albums chart. In the U.S., it reached a high of #28 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, but failed to impact the Billboard 200.

The band's second album, “Total Life Forever,” was released in May 2010 and was nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize. Produced by Luke Smith, the album reached #8 on the U.K. Albums chart and #35 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
