Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston is the latest star to land a publishing deal.

The multiple-Emmy winner will lift the lid on his life and career in the book, highlighting the five seasons he spent on the acclaimed TV series as chemistry teacher-turned-drug kingpin Walter White.

A statement from the actor reads: "Walter White taught me a lot - some of it useful, some of it dangerous. With this book, I want to tell the stories of my life and reveal the secrets and lies that I lived with for six years shooting Breaking Bad."

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has addressed rumors that neither he nor bandmate Josh Klinghoffer were playing their instruments live during the Super Bowl halftime show wiht Bruno Mars Sunday night.

Nothing looked amiss until eagle-eyed Living Color guitarist Vernon Reid noticed that both Flea's bass and Klinghoffer's guitar had nothing plugged into their output jacks.

"That guitar is plugged into NOTHING," he wrote on twitter. The tweet went viral, leading to much speculation over the legitimacy of the performance.

Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea has confessed he and his bandmates were not performing live during the Super Bowl half-time show after fans noticed that neither he nor bandmate Josh Klinghoffer were "plugged in" for their set with Bruno Mars.

Many fans were too caught up in the moment to notice the rockers were cordless when they took the stage in New Jersey on Sunday (02Feb14), but eagle-eyed Living Color star Vernon Reid couldn't pass up the moment to poke fun at the stars on Twitter.com after he realised the stars weren't amplified.

Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea has recruited punk icon Patti Smith for his new fundraising solo EP, which fans will decide how much to pay for.

Following Radiohead's ground-breaking sales concept, the bassist will release the Helen Burns project later this year and allow fans to pay what they want to download the tracks.

All proceeds will benefit the Silverlake Conservatory for Music school Flea founded a decade ago.

Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea showed his soft side by breaking down in tears as he told of his work helping underprivileged children.

The bassist was also a trumpet prodigy in his youth, and he was delighted to share his skills with a young student at California's Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit music school which he co-founded in 2001.

Late The Who star John Entwistle has topped a new online poll to find the best bassist.

The rocker, who died in 2002, beat out Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea and Paul McCartney in the Rolling Stone readers survey.

In naming Entwistle the top man, the publication's editors state, "His solo on My Generation is probably the most famous bass solo in rock history."

"The Who have carried on since his sudden death in 2002, but their music has lacked Entwistle's thunder and been considerably weaker as a result."

Former Guns N' Roses star Duff McKagan has reportedly become the latest member of Jane's Addiction - he's rumored to have stepped in to replace bassist Eric Avery.

The band reunited in 2008 after Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor convinced them to join him on tour - and they have also been back in the studio working on new material.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are considering doubling their year-long hiatus to allow bassist Flea to complete his music studies.

Guitarist Ron Wood reportedly told Rolling Stone magazine that he and Stewart had spent Christmas working on new material and making plans to tour in 2009, with Red Hot Chili Peppers star Flea filling in for the late Ronnie Laine.

The Rolling Stones rocker Ron Wood has confirmed plans for a reunion of his 70s supergroup The Faces are going very well after a week of top secret rehearsals.

The colorful rocker and founder of Los Angeles' Silverlake Conservatory of Music insists he's adding to his classical knowledge because you can never know enough about the "mathematics" of composition.

Eric Avery will rejoin Jane's Addiction for their reunion at the upcoming NME Awards in Los Angeles. Warring bandmates Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro agreed to bring the group together for a fourth reformation at the awards on April 23, where the band will receive the Godlike Genius Award and play three songs.
