Fenix TX
Purple Reign in Blood [Clean]
Release Date: 2005 11 08
Label: Adrenaline
Rating:

Fenix TX broke up in 2002, so the 2005 live album Purple Reign in Blood serves as a reunion, too. All the original members are here, and they blast through career highlights like "Phoebe Cates," "All My Fault," and "Threesome." The quartet fills out the set with most of 2001's Lechuza, a few more tracks from the band's 1999 debut, and covers of CCR's "Fortunate Son" and Peter Schilling's '80s novelty "Major Tom (Coming Home)." Diehards will be enthusiastic about Purple Reign in Blood, but otherwise it's a pretty standard live album. It's enjoyable enough because Fenix TX play buoyant pop-punk, but really only necessary for the longtime fan. [A "clean" edition of the album was released in 2005 as well.] Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide
