Gloria Estefan's restaurant sued by injured diner

Gloria Estefan's Miami, Florida restaurant has been named in a lawsuit by a diner who slipped and fell there.

Gerri Ann Yanks claims a night out at Bongos Cuban Cafe ended badly, leaving her "disfigured" and in an awful lot of pain.

And to make matters worse for Estefan and the managers, she reveals she warned staff about the slippery floors before she fell.

She is suing the restaurant and Estefan Enterprises, Inc. for more than $15,000 (£10,000), according to

A White House event featuring Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin has been cancelled in the wake of the fatal shootings of 12 people in Washington, D.C. on Monday (16Sep13).

President Barack Obama postponed the Musica Latina event following the mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yards, which also left another 12 people injured. Suspect Aaron Alexis, a former petty officer in the U.S. Navy, was killed during a gunfight with police.

Kelly Clarkson To Star In New TV Singing Show 'Duets'

Former American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson is set to front a new reality TV singing show with Lionel Richie.

The singer, who won the first season of Simon Cowell's talent show in 2002, is becoming a TV judge herself on a new series called Duets, in which a number of stars will head out across America to find a collaborative partner.

Richie will also be joining the show along with Robin Thicke and country star Jennifer Nettles.

During the series, the four stars will go looking for singers to be their duet partner, and each week will feature a performance in front of a studio audience...

Queen Latifah is following in the footsteps of Simon Cowell by launching a new reality TV show with stars including Gloria Estefan and John Rich scouting for talent across the U.S.

The rapper/actress is executive producer of a competition called The Star Next Door, in which celebrity mentors will travel to cities across the country to seek out local performers with potential.

The show will differ from rivals such as American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice by sending the judges out to find potential competitors instead of holding open auditions.

Helen Mirren has signed up to lend her voice to an upcoming episode of "Glee," according to a report.

The star is slated to provide the "inner voice" of one of the characters, reports

A source tells the website, "Helen came in and secretly recorded several long and hilarious monologues two weeks ago. Then she visited the kids on set, and they had no idea she was coming; they were stunned. Helen's a big fan of the show and the message it sends out about arts education."

The episode featuring Mirren is said to air next month.

The Give Me Everything hit-maker has been approached to play the big brother of lesbian cheerleader Santana, who is played by Naya Rivera.

Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin are set to join the cast of GLEE for a Latino-themed episode in the New Year.

Estefan will play mom to Naya Rivera's lesbian character Santana, while Martin will play a Spanish teacher.

The Livin' La Vida Loca singer is expected to appear in more than one upcoming episode.
