Kat Edmonson is an American jazz vocalist from Austin, Texas. In 2003 she was a contestant on the second season of “American Idol.”

Her debut album, “Take to the Sky,” was released in 2009. It featured her takes on classic tracks by the likes of Cole Porter, Henry Mancini, the Gershwins, Carole King, John Lennon and others. It reached #21 on the Billboard Top Jazz Albums chart.

In 2012 her second album, “Way Down Low,” was issued on Spinnerette Records. It included both songs penned by Edmonson and cover songs. The album peaked at #9 on the Jazz Albums chart.
