Earl Klugh was born September 16, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan and is a smooth jazz/jazz fusion guitarist and composer. His sound consists of a blend of jazz, pop, and R&B music, which became a trademark of Klugh’s. At the age of 13, Klugh saw Chet Atkins playing guitar on the “Perry Como Show” and claims his life was forever changed. The two would meet eventually and go on to collaborate with one another on a number of albums. Klugh also cites Bob James, Ray Parker Jr., Wes Montgomery, and Laurindo Almeida as his musical inspirations.
