Two Years After Violent Brawl, Drake And Chris Brown Unite In The Studio

July 13th, 2014 1:01pm EDT
Drake and Chris Brown
Here’s something we thought we would never see: Drake and Chris Brown working on a song together in the studio following their destructive fight in a night club in 2012.

The two rappers reportedly fought over Rihanna, who Drake is good friends with and Brown dated before he assaulted her in 2009. Allegedly Brown sent a bottle over to Drake, and when Drake refused the gesture it escalated into an all-out brawl that left WIP Nightclub’s floor covered in glass. The two managed to escape charges for the fight.

WIP Nightclub wasn’t as lucky: They were sued by NBA star Tony Parker for $20 milli...

According to TMZ.com, the pair also rented out an entire bowling alley where they stayed until 4 a.m. the next morning. The pair was also seen leaving Nobu restaurant in Mayfair on Sunday and hanging out at London's celebrity hotspot Cir...

Ranking the very best albums of any year is incredibly difficult; there are always misses. 2013 was filled with some triumphant musical moments, though not all of their parent albums were necessarily ‘worthy’ of being considered the best of the year. Because of various factors, this list has its surprises and like any album reviewed, its triumphs and flaws. One thing’s for sure – the top ten to fifteen albums are pretty close to the cream of the crop from my perspective. Here are the 50 (+1) best albums of 2013!

Thoughts On The 56th Annual Grammy Nominations

The Grammys are like a musician’s Super Bowl, even if the nominations and victorious artists are flawed.  I won’t lie to you, I complain every year that someone won a Grammy that didn’t deserve it while someone else was snubbed. Just last year, during the 55th Annual Grammys, I lobbied hard for Frank Ocean (looking back, I have reservations now) while Mumford & Sons walked out with the Album of the Year trophy.  The year that Taylor Swift won for Fearless, my girl Beyoncé was on a roll until the coveted Album of the Year award was read.  You get my position though! Music Review: 'Nothing Was The Same' Gives Drake Another Juggernaut

Nothing Was The Same
Years ago, who would’ve foreseen the new breed of hip-hop, one combining super relaxed tempo, elements of contemporary and alternative R&B, and emo sensibility?  The answer is no one, but I speak for the music community that we are all glad that one Aubrey Drake Graham came along, mixing the flow of mentor Lil Wayne with his own unique artistic attributes.  On his third album Nothing Was The Same, Drake is on the same vibe, and that’s perfectly fine.  Sure Nothing Was The Same doesn’t supersede the MC’s past juggernauts, but it certainly does further enhance his discography.  There may neve...
