Doobies Do It Right In Jersey

October 18th, 2012 3:20pm EDT
The Doobie Brothers
The Classics never die, that was evident on Tuesday night when the Doobie Brothers played the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown, NJ. I was looking forward to the show since I was meeting up with an old friend and wanted to shake up my musical landscape a bit and give something new a try since it’s a bad I would not normally gravitate too. Since it’s something I didn’t want to do alone, I took a friend along to enjoy the concert with me. Truth be told the band was suited more to her age bracket than mind the average age was adults in their fifties, I guess all my efforts get...

September 23rd, 2010 9:22pm EDT
The Doobie Brothers
Rock legends The Doobie Brothers are back with their first album in over 10 years, "World Gone Crazy," set to hit stores on September 28th. But don't call it a comeback album or a nostalgia record - it is yet another piece of the ever-changing musical makeup of one of the great American bands. Produced by Ted Templeman, the band's producer through 1980, the album was conceived over five years ago, really coming together in the last three. That extra time allowed the band to delve into new writing and recording territories, while still holding on to that vintage Doobie sound.

The Doobie's...

June 19th, 2009 12:32pm EDT
Billy Joel
Like Corrine Bailey Rae sang, "Go put your records on." The song of the same title is the perfect piece of advice for summer. The Beach Boys, "Come and Go With Me" (1978) - No group better embodies the spirit of summer than The Beach Boys, so picking just one of their songs isn't an easy task. Rather going for the more obvious, kitschy beach themed songs like "Surfin' Safari," "Calif...

Goofy Rock Names

May 30th, 2008 8:58am EDT
Meat Loaf
There are lots of bizarre, random band names in the history of rock and roll, like the Strawberry Alarm Clock, the Smashing Pumpkins, and the Electric Prunes, and it may have been a little embarrassing to say "I'm a member of The Electric Prunes." But, would you be willing to say, "I am the Electric Prune?"

Here at Starpulse, we would like to pay tribute to the individuals who have the courage to sign his/her checks, or introduce him/herself at a parent teacher conference with one of the below listed names.

10) The Edge: It's kind of a cool name when you think about it. Not Ed...
