Olympic Soundrack Bounds To Top Of iTunes Chart

The Olympic soundtrack is must-have music as evidenced by its climb to the top of the iTunes chart. The "Isle of Wonder" album features everything from Dizzee Rascal, to the Arctic Monkeys, and the Four Nations Choir.

Filmmaker Danny Boyle masterminded the opening ceremony on Friday night ,and he featured a lot of contemporary music, as well as some classical tunes.

Boyle's collaborators are featured prominently on the album, including his "Slumdog Millionaire" soundman AR Rahman, who is featured on the disc.

On Friday, "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle kicked off the London 2012 Olympic Games with a dazzling visual spectacular that included appearances by actor Kenneth Branagh, James Bond star Daniel Craig, author J.K. Rowling and Queen Elizabeth II.

British pop star Jessie J broke her hiatus from music on Saturday to perform a homecoming show at V Festival in her native Essex, England.

The singer scrapped a number of concerts this summer after breaking her foot, but she refused to let the injury stop her performing at the British music festival, which takes place over two legs in Stafford, north England and Chelmsford in Essex.

Jessie J, who grew up in the region, took to the stage at the Chelmsford event on Saturday wearing a protective surgical boot and played to a crowd which included a number of her friends and family.

Rapper Dizzee Rascal pulled out of a performance at a Portuguese festival this weekend after he was involved in an incident on a plane at London's Heathrow Airport.

The "Bonkers" hitmaker was onboard a British Airways flight on Saturday and is alleged to have had an argument with a flight attendant.

Police were called to attend the disturbance and Rascal, who was due to perform at the Optimus Alive festival, is said to have been ordered off the aircraft.

British singer Cheryl Cole is the celebrity most idolized by kids - beating out competition from Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and David Beckham in a new poll.

The Girls Aloud star topped a survey by online video network Parentchannel.tv to find the showbiz icon most children consider the perfect role model.

Snoop Dogg made a triumphant return to the British live scene on Friday with a hot show at the Glastonbury festival. The rapper's four-year visa ban was overturned earlier this year, and the Somerset, England festival was announced as his grand return.
