Iron Maiden rocker Bruce Dickinson has launched a new aircraft maintenance business.

The frontman, who is a licensed commercial pilot, hopes to create hundreds of jobs after setting up Cardiff Aviation Ltd in southern Wales.

The company will provide and perform the upkeep for the airliners of mainstream and independent firms and also perform training tests.

And Dickinson is excited about the new venture.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is determined to take off with the band's official aircraft again after the company behind the jet was forced to cease operations due to financial problems earlier this week.

Iron Maiden rocker Bruce Dickinson's piloting dreams have been temporarily grounded - the airline he flies with has been ordered to cease operations immediately.

Astraeus Airlines was due to be placed into administration, according to the Daily Mail in Britain.

Astraeus bosses have blamed "lower-than-expected levels of business" during the summer and "technical issues" for their predicament.

The company's chief executive, Hugh Parry, says, "We battled hard to save Astraeus... (but) we have no option but to cease all operations and put Astraeus Airlines in the hands of the administrators....

The rocker, who is a fully-qualified pilot, narrates a fact-filled film called Safety In The Balance with Captain Bruce Dickinson, which is used by the U.K.'s Civil Aviation Authority to train staff.

Ozzy Osbourne has aimed a foul-mouthed rant at Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson - insisting he still hasn't forgiven the singer for their ugly 2005 feud.

The rock stars fell out five years ago while Iron Maiden were performing with Osbourne's Ozzfest tour.

Dickinson was accused of criticizing the Black Sabbath star during the shows and Osbourne's wife Sharon was so angry, she allegedly arranged to have eggs thrown at the singer while he was on stage.

Heavy rockers Iron Maiden have been treated to an out-of-this-world experience with a special visit to the famous NASA Space Center in Texas.

The musicians, who kicked off their Final Frontier Tour with a show in Dallas, Texas on June 9th, used their time in the state to accept an official invitation to tour the facility in Houston.
