Neil Diamond Makes Surprise Appearance At Fenway Park To Sing 'Sweet Caroline'
Neil Diamond made a surprise appearance at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass., on Saturday to sing his classic "Sweet Caroline" to the crowd of 35,152 Red Sox fans.
The singer made the trip in the wake of Monday's Boston Marathon bombings, and led the crowd in the singing of his 1969 hit single after the top half of the eighth inning of the team's game against the Kansas City Royals.
"We will run another marathon, bigger and better than ever," public address announcer Henry Mahegan said before the game started. "We are one. We are Boston Strong."

George Clooney showed off his singing skills at the Carousel of Hope Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night by nervously joining Neil Diamond for a rendition of "Sweet Caroline."
The crooner spotted Clooney in the audience and decided to give him the opportunity to duet with him.
The reluctant movie star, who was honored with the Brass Ring Award at the gala, seemed far from comfortable at first, but then joined Diamond for the finale of the song when the singer urged him to "sing the last line with me."
A smiling Clooney agreed and sang "Sweet Caroline."

Neil Diamond has doubled up his "Hot August Night" anniversary shows at the venue where the classic live album was recorded after the first two concerts sold out in minutes.
The Jazz Singer star performed 10 sold-out nights at the Greek theater in Los Angeles during the summer of 1972 and now he's almost halfway towards matching the feat 40 years later.
His two midsummer concerts on August 11 and 16 sold out quickly and now Diamond will play another two shows - on August 18 and 23.
Hot August Night remains Diamond's best-selling album ever.
His last concert at the Greek was in 1986.

Music legend Neil Diamond is planning a bizarre collaboration with Limp Bizkit rocker Fred Durst, after the odd pair met online using social networking site Twitter.
Durst reached out to the Sweet Caroline star on the site - which stars use to stay in touch with their fans.
Durst told Diamond, "I am a huge fan of yours. We should do a collaboration - Neil Diamond meets my band Limp Bizkit. Sounds fresh."

The Holiday hit-maker released her latest album Hard Candy last year and launched her Sticky & Sweet world tour. And all the hard work has paid off for the singer - she has topped Billboard's Moneymakers list of 2008, earning a grand total of $242,176,466.

Singer Adele was in pain throughout the Grammys on Sunday after ripping off a thumbnail before Saturday night's MusiCares tribute to Neil Diamond.
The British singer, who was named a Grammy Best New Artist, was forced to wear a large white bandage on her thumb as she performed Diamond's "Cracklin' Rosie" on the night before the Grammys, and a Band Aid to the big show on Sunday.
She tells Eonline.com, "I ripped my nail off. I had fake nails on and I was having a tickling fight and it bent back and ripped my nail underneath off."
