Regarding his hit “Solitary Man”: I prefer the earlier version on the Bang label. It has a more rustic sound more befitting the title. The later version which is a remix with more instrumentation and female backing singers: Those additions ruined the feel of the song. I have the earlier version on a 45rpm. I’d like to find that earlier version on CD.

i luv you neil. your music is magical. my brother introduced me to your music 30 years ago. i even went to you house when i was 14 when you lived in belair. we sat in our car and stared at the iron bars and shrubbery in front of your estate. this was in the 80's

Neil is the best songwriter performer ever. Every one of his songs has soul and reflects life.It would be a great loss if there were no more songs from this great writer and performer. When I am down I listen to Neil and he lift me,when I'm happy I sing along with him.He's with me all the time
