10 Musicians Who Died In Plane Crashes
Everyone's been talking about Harrison Ford's plane crash. The actor probably saved some lives when he crash landed his vintage aircraft on a golf course on March 5, 2015. The plane's engine failed, but the star's flying experience and quick thinking helped him land without crashing into any nearby homes.

Ford was lucky. He survived the crash and suffered just a broken pelvis and ankle. Other stars haven't been as fortunate. Musicians are high on the list of those killed in plane crashes, probably because they frequently tour the world to perform for their legions of fans.

7/1/2009 11:15am EDT
Shocking music deaths
Heart attacks. Plane crashes. Car crashes. Drug overdoses. Murder. Over the years, these have become some of the most common causes of the often shocking deaths in the music industry. On a lighter note, some might argue that even ham sandwiches have been involved.

Regardless of the cause, take a look back at these musical icons that have left us way, way, way too soon - yet have left us with legacies that will live on forever. The majority of these deaths, in addition to being sudden and shocking, were in some way either ironic or just completely messed up. Rock on...

25 Surprise Celebrity Deaths That Rocked Us All

Natasha Richardson
Actress Natasha Richardson's unexpected death in a skiing accident late last month stunned and saddened the public. The usually overzealous media even seemed to tread lightly, gently reporting a story it never expected to tell. For a culture that values and admires celebrity, the death of vibrant public figures with potential yet to fulfill serves as a harsh reminder that despite glamour, talent and seemingly charmed lives, all of us are mortal. Whether on screens big or small, over the radio airwaves or in bright vivid color on canvas, the sudden passing of an entertainer can feel like the...

Sheryl Crow
Successful singer-songwriters have spanned across the decades, but no era saw them flourish like the 1970s. James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Dan Fogelberg, Carly Simon, Jackson Browne and Neil Young (to name a few) were tearing up the airwaves. The 70s singer-songwriter sound is back - with a whole new batch of artists.
