Drake And Future Take Top Honors

9/29/2015 9:02am EDT
Drake And Future Take ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ To No. 1
Lana Del Rey could practically taste her second no. 1 album – that is until Drake and Future totally ‘killed her vibe’ with surprise mixtape, What A Time To Be Alive. Expectedly, the superstar hip-hop collaboration was too much for the moody, alt-pop singer to overcome. In other words, her Honeymoon in the ‘penthouse’ wasn’t meant to be. Okay, okay, enough puns!

Drake and Future took top honors on the Billboard 200, to the tune of 375,000 units – WOW! This doesn’t outpace Drake’s earlier no. 1 album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late or the juggernaut that was The Weeknd’s Beauty Behin...

Lana Del Rey, Honeymoon © Interscope
Honestly, it doesn’t seem like alternative pop singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey is going to be changing anytime soon. On her latest album Honeymoon, her idea of a honeymoon definitely doesn’t match up with the happy occasion in which newlyweds partake of. But this is Lana Del Rey, who has embraced darkness on previous albums as well as the media. With the modus operandi well established, Honeymoon does end up being a sound addition to her discography, even if it isn’t absent of flaws.

“Honeymoon” initiates the effort mysteriously, characterized by its haunting strings. Once Del Rey ente...

The Weeknd Makes It Three Weeks At No. 1 On Billboard
For a third consecutive week, The Weeknd keeps the top spot on the Billboard 200 piping hot. Well, perhaps the 99,000 units that Beauty Behind The Music moved this week isn’t ‘the second coming’ but The Weeknd definitely has a good thing going for him. Three weeks in, Beauty Behind The Madness has moved around 655,000 units. Pure sales are less robust eliminating streaming and tracking from the formula, but still Beauty Behind The Madness is putting up some sales numbers as well – impressive!

Not only is The Weeknd getting it done on the Billboard 200, but also he is equally hot on the...

8/31/2015 9:12am EDT
The Weeknd Steps Up His Game On 'Beauty Behind the Madness'
Talk about a dude with hella hype behind him in 2015! Many musicians would kill to be in the position that Canadian R&B singer Abel Tesfaye – better known as The Weeknd – finds himself in. With three top-five hits, including one chart topper on the Billboard Hit 100, it seemed pretty clear that there was no way that his highly anticipated album Beauty Behind The Madness could miss. Now the question is does the album live up to the gargantuan hype and meet expectations? Sometimes it does, while at others times it’s a smidgen less enthralling than the hype.

With a few notable exceptions, i...

Everyone knows smoking is bad, but many celebrities can't help lighting up. Maybe they have a tough time quitting the habit, or perhaps they smoke to keep off the weight. A cheeseburger is worse than a cigarette, right?

It may surprise you that some of these stars smoke - others you won't find so shocking.

Keira Knightley is a smoker, and it's probably part of the reason why she's so thin. She's also been accused of having an eating disorder. Early in 2014 she admitted that her grandmother and great-grandmother had anorexia but denied suffering from the disease herself. Either way, both h...

7 Women Who Are Changing The Music Industry
Last year, Alanis Morrisette admitted many radio stations wouldn't play "You Oughta Know" off her 1995 album, Jagged Little Pill. The reason? They already had two women in rotation on the radio. For years, the music industry has presented its own set of challenges specific to women. Whether it's executives telling how a young pop star should sex up her act to not being taken seriously by critics within their music genre. There are, however, a group of women who are using their voices and their music as an opportunity to push back and change what's considered the norm within the music indust...
