Def Leppard Praises Tom Cruise's 'Rock Of Ages' Singing
The new musical Rock of Ages stars Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, a rock star in the ‘80s. The film uses classic heavy metal music, some of which Jaxx performs of his own. With the original artists on set for filming, Cruise impressed even the originators of the tune. Director Adam Shankman recalled the moment when Def Leppard’s lead singer heard Cruise perform.
“How about Tom singing ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ in front of Def Leppard, that was freakin’ weird,” Shankman said. “I was scared out of my mind and then behind me, Joe Elliot was standing behind me and he said, ‘Oh my God he’s f***ing b...

'Don't Stop Believin'' Tops 'Thriller' As #1 80's Song (With Videos!)
Michael Jackson has been snubbed in a new poll to find the best hits of the 1980s - his song "Thriller" was beaten to the top spot by Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'."
Thriller only managed to hit fourth spot in the top ten, compiled by the editors of AOL, behind Journey, Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget about Me)" and A-Ha's "Take On Me."
Journey's hit has gotten a second wind, thanks in part to being the "theme song" of the World Champion 2005 Chicago White Sox, as well as the music played in the "scandalous" last minutes in the finale of The Sopranos.

Collateral Damage From Robert Plant's Decision To Nix Zep Reunion
Since the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reformed last December for a one-off show to pay tribute to late Atlantic Records founder and legend Ahmet Ertegun, the man who discovered and brought us some of the most talented artists of all-time (seriously, we really could use another Ahmet right about now-- but since the almighty dollar overshadows the need for actual talent we can forget that) and gave a handful of folks in England the greatest holiday gift ever, there has been a weekly story about the band going on tour. And not going on tour. But wanting to tour. And not wanting to tour. ...

How Will We Categorize Our Current Decade of Music?
We all know that the 70s was the decade of classic/arena rock, the 80s was the decade of hair metal/synth pop and the 90s was the decade of grunge/alternative rock. This brings up a question that a lot of music lovers must wonder: how will we categorize our current decade of music?
It's funny how music tends to change every generation. The 70s was the era of classic rock where groups such as Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd took over the entire music scene. Next up was the 80s, where both hair metal rockers such as Guns 'N Roses, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi reigned, along with ...
