A former assistant to Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley faces up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to defrauding the musician of at least $400,000 (£266,670).

Getty Andrew Rothenberg served as the star's personal assistant and financial manager for years and was placed in charge of settling Tinsley's personal bills and expenses, looking after his direct investments, and taking care of some financial arrangements for his wife.

Dave Matthews Band have turned the first stop of their upcoming winter tour into a benefit concert to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Crash Into Me hit-makers will kick-off their cross country trek on November 30th with a performance at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey - one of the states hardest-hit by the post-tropical cyclone, which ravaged the North East last month.

Musician Dave Matthews has teamed up with a California vineyard to release a collection of high-quality wine.

The Dave Matthews Band frontman has joined forces with winemaker Steve Reeder to produce The Dreaming Tree, a line named after the singer's 1998 tune.

Reeder explains, "Dave and I wanted to make wines that are complex yet approachable - fun wines that are food friendly and available for anyone to enjoy. The Dave Matthews Band have postponed their weekend festival in New York over fears Hurricane Irene will hit the city.

The storm has caused chaos in the Caribbean in recent days and forecasts show it is heading up East Coast. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has declared a state of emergency and advised residents to evacuate their homes this weekend, and as a result, the Dave Matthews Band have axed their planned Caravan music festival on Governors Island.

Ticketholders for Saturday and Sunday's shows can instead attend the event on Friday, before the storm is scheduled to hit.

U2 have topped a new Forbes magazine list of the 25 highest-paid touring musicians.

The Irish rockers have pulled in $195 million in the last year from their massive 360 Degrees tour - $70 million more than second-place Bon Jovi.

Elton John came in third with $100 million and Lady Gaga finished fourth with $90 million.

Others making the top 10 were Canadian crooner Michael Buble, Paul McCartney, the Black Eyed Peas, The Eagles, Justin Bieber and the Dave Matthews Band.

Lady Gaga has another reason to celebrate following her Grammys success - she's been named the highest-earning pop star of 2010.

The "Poker Face" singer topped Billboard's Money Makers list, with earnings of more than $30.5 million last year. Bon Jovi are second in the rundown with $30.4 million, and Pink Floyd star Roger Waters is third with $24.4 million.

A man has been arrested in Chicago, Illinois after allegedly plotting to blow up a baseball arena where the Dave Matthews Band was performing on Saturday night.

Sami Samir Hassoun was ambushed by a team of police and federal agents moments after dropping what he thought was a bomb into a trash can outside of Wrigley Field, the home of the Chicago Cubs team, on Saturday. Grammy Award nominee Dave Matthews has laughed off reports he was asked to perform at disgraced U.S. politician John Edwards' nuptials, insisting he would never have agreed to the offer.

The former Senator and vice-presidential candidate recently confessed to fathering a child with his mistress, and allegedly assured the woman, a former assistant, that he was serious about leaving his wife and marrying her - by planning his ideal wedding.

Matthews was reportedly at the top of Edwards' list of performers, but he insists he never spoke to the politician about his wedding day plans.

Christmas came early for the Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Beyonce on Wednesday night when they each received three major Grammy Awards nominations at the 2010 event's big reveal in Los Angeles.

Singer Dave Matthews has paid tribute to LeRoi Moore, a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, who died on Tuesday.

Moore passed away at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center following complications from injuries he suffered in a vehicle accident in June.

Matthews and the rest of the band performed in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, just hours after Moore's death.
