Justin Hawkins: 'Vegans Don't Sweat Or Smell'

January 3rd, 2014 9:00am EST
The Darkness
Former The Darkness singer Justin Hawkins has proclaimed he wears the same pants every day and rarely takes a shower, insisting he still smells fresh because he avoids eating meat.

The 38 year-old British rocker is a committed vegan who refuses to eat all animal and dairy products, and he is adamant his diet has affected his sweat glands and he no longer perspires.

He tells Q magazine, "I never change my clothes. In fact, I even sleep in them because vegans don't sweat or smell. I rarely shower and I don't wash my hair. Go up to any vegan and sniff.

"They don't stink."

The Darkness Get Back Together

March 9th, 2011 10:04pm EST
The Darkness
Madcap British rockers The Darkness are planning a low-key comeback if the launch of a new website is anything to go by.

The group imploded in 2006 and split amid reports of alcohol abuse and in-fighting - and sibling bandmates Justin and Dan Hawkins went their separate ways, forming Hot Leg and Stone Gods respectively.

Reports suggest sober singer Justin has now reconciled with his brother and the pair has revamped The Darkness.

The new official website also links to a Facebook fan page - and top music news website Spinner.com has confirmed the band is back together, although it is stil...

Adam Lambert has set his sights on a new collaboration - he wants to record a duet with Christina Aguilera.

He tells WENN, "It's the story of a soldier. He's been in battle and he's lying face down on the ground. He can't move, but he turns his head and starts to see blood run across the ground, and so he thinks he's going to die. They always say you see your life flash backward when you're about to die. But his life flashes forward - into what possibly could happen. He sees what his lif...

Switches To Tour With She Wants Revenge, Be Your Own Pet & The Virgins

May 18th, 2008 12:00pm EDT
Switches
"Well, the idea was a band, but we're really a neurotic bunch of obsessive compulsive weirdos," Switches singer Matt Bishop says.

The neurotic obsessive-compulsive weirdos, pulled through impressively and way fantastically, and on March 18, 2008 Switches released their debut album, Lay Down The Law, produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith) on Interscope.

Strangely, Switches, who now all live in London, came together naturally and easily. Matt grew up in Southend (a low-rent seaside town, something like the old Asbury Park neighbourhood) and formed the band while at college:...
