New Daft Punk Track Featuring Jay-Z Leaks Online, But Is It Real?

March 11th, 2014 8:01pm EDT
Daft Punk
If you ever wanted to hear Jay-Z rap his typical "uhs" and "yeahs" over the beats of a Daft Punk song, you're in luck.

No one knows exactly when, but the French EDM duo and Hova recorded a single called "Computerized" sometime during the last few years, according to numerous reports, and the song leaked online on Monday. The song's legitimacy has also been questioned by fans and critics alike, which may explain why it was never released.

The song comprises most of the robot duo's "The Son Of Flynn" off their soundtrack for Disney's "Tron Legacy with their repeating robotic vocal "computer...

2014 Grammy Awards Reactions: The Triumphs And Fails
Another year and another Grammys ceremony has come and passed. As always, there were moments that thrilled while others made me curse under my breath. Luckily, as a music journalist, this guy has learned how to think like the Recording Academy, hence the accuracy of many of my picks this year. Still, even being correct, you have to wonder what the Academy is thinking sometimes. Yes, I’m specifically referencing the fact that Kendrick Lamar was shut out – ridiculous! But here goes nothing examining the awards given.

The Big Four: Record, Album and Song of the Year & Best New Artist

Five Best Performances From The 2014 Grammys

January 28th, 2014 1:05am EST
Daft Punk Grammys
With so many great live performances at Sunday night's 56th Grammy Awards, it's been hard* whittling them all down to the five best. Well, the five best that didn't include any weddings, Broadway adaptations of Little Red Riding Hood meets Harry Potter meets Showgirls, or cut-off performances, that is.

The night was all about mixing the past with the present, and in some cases the past, present and future.

5. Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard and Blake Shelton: 2/4 of the original Highwaymen with the legendary Haggard and modern Country giant Shelton wasn't the tightest voc...

'Buffalo' Hat Worn By Pharrell Williams At The Grammys Steeped In History

January 27th, 2014 6:00pm EST
Pharrell Williams Buffalo Hat Grammys
Pharrell Williams arrived at Sunday night's Grammy Awards wearing a big brown hat that had everybody talking.

The producer and his hat took center stage several times during the awards ceremony to accept awards with "Get Lucky" collaborators Daft Punk, causing numerous comparisons to the likes of Smokey the Bear, Canadian Mounties and the logo of fast food joint Arby's.

But the hat does have a history and is nothing new, in fact, it was created over 30 years ago.

Designer Vivienne Westwood created the hat as part of her 1982 "Buffalo" collection, after which the chapeau made an appearanc...

Ranking the very best albums of any year is incredibly difficult; there are always misses. 2013 was filled with some triumphant musical moments, though not all of their parent albums were necessarily ‘worthy’ of being considered the best of the year. Because of various factors, this list has its surprises and like any album reviewed, its triumphs and flaws. Thoughts On The 56th Annual Grammy Nominations

December 9th, 2013 8:50pm EST
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
The Grammys are like a musician’s Super Bowl, even if the nominations and victorious artists are flawed.  I won’t lie to you, I complain every year that someone won a Grammy that didn’t deserve it while someone else was snubbed. Just last year, during the 55th Annual Grammys, I lobbied hard for Frank Ocean (looking back, I have reservations now) while Mumford & Sons walked out with the Album of the Year trophy.  The year that Taylor Swift won for Fearless, my girl Beyoncé was on a roll until the coveted Album of the Year award was read.  You get my position though! This year,  I find myself...
