British singer Boy George is determined to overturn an order banning him from travelling to the U.S., insisting it's "a horrible feeling" to be prevented from visiting the country.

The Karma Chameleon hit-maker was detained by cops in 2005 after they discovered cocaine in his New York apartment during a call-out over a reported burglary. Boy George denied the substance was his.

He later pleaded guilty to falsely reporting a burglary and was fined, sentenced to five days of community service, and ordered to attend a drug rehabilitation program.

Boy George's 1980s hit-makers Culture Club have reunited for the first time in 10 years ahead of a New Year's Eve show in Australia.

The gender-bending singer and band mates Roy Hay, Mikey Craig and Jon Moss have regrouped in the studio ahead of the Sydney Resolution Concert Series, which will also feature performances from Jamiroquai and the Pet Shop Boys.

Hay tells Australia's Channel Seven, "Last time we got together was 10 years ago, so it takes that long to recover from the last time we worked with each other."

Boy George has criticized London officials after they failed to find any surveillance footage of an alleged attack on his friend last week.

The Culture Club star was devastated to learn his pal Philip Sallon had been hurt during a night out in the U.K. capital last Saturday.

Sallon is still in hospital after sustaining broken bones and a fractured skull in the alleged attack in London's popular Piccadilly Circus.

Boy George is planning to reunite Culture Club next year to mark the 30th anniversary of the band. The singer helped form the group in 1981 and shot to fame when they released their first record a year later.

LONDON (AP) - Singer Boy George admits in a recording played in court that he restrained a male escort with handcuffs.

But the former Culture Club singer says he had no intention of hurting the man. He also denies he tried to assault the escort or that he swung a chain at him.
