Animal Rights Crusaders Slam Jamie Cullum For His Circus Concert

British musician Jamie Cullum has come under attack from animal rights activists after he played a show at the home of a controversial circus.

The 34 year-old Jazz star played to a sold-out crowd last month at the main venue of Circus Krone, one of Europe's largest circuses, which still includes 'performances' from an array of exotic animals, including big cats, elephants and monkeys.

The concert has infuriated officials at animal charities, who claim Cullum should have researched the venue's history before booking his concert.

Jazz star Jamie Cullum treated commuters to a show-stopping performance at one of London's busiest railway stations on Tuesday (21May13).

The Brit took advantage of the free piano at St Pancras International to play a short set with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra in front of hordes of travellers.

Cullum played new track Momentum from his latest album, and admitted he had always wanted to have a go on the station's piano.

Rock legend Steve Winwood beamed with pride as he gave away his daughter at a star-studded wedding on Saturday.

The singer watched as his daughter Mary-Clare married entrepreneur Ben Elliott at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Northleach, England.

The couple shared its happy day with singer Jamie Cullum and his wife Sophie Dahl as well as members of Britain's royal family - guests included Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, whose son Tom Parker Bowles was best man.

The bride and groom became engaged on a trip to India in March.

British model Sophie Dahl and husband Jamie Cullum have welcomed their first child, daughter Lyra.

The beauty, granddaughter of beloved author Roald Dahl, and the jazz singer married last year and announced they were to be parents in September.

Dahl's spokesperson has now announced the model gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday.

The representative says, "Their daughter Lyra was born on March 2. The couple will not be releasing any further information at this time."

British rockers Editors' London gig on Wednesday has been thrown into chaos, because frontman Tom Smith has a bad cold. The band are due to perform at the BBC Electric Proms alongside Mark Ronson and Jamie Cullum - but may have to back out if Smith fails to recover in time.

Bassist Russell Leetch says, "He came down with a stinking cold over the weekend and now we're all starting to feel it.

"Tom's doing everything he can to protect his voice. He's taking lots of vitamin B and C supplements and drinking honey and lemon."

The stars were supporting The Lavender Trust, an initiative affiliated to British charity Breast Cancer Care, which raises money for young sufferers of the disease.
