Taio Cruz (born Jacob Taio Cruz on 23 April 1983 in London, England) is an English singer, songwriter and music producer.

Cruz's debut album “Departure” was released by Island Records in the United Kingdom in March 2008 and peaked at #17 on the U.K. Albums chart. The album contained the singles "I Just Wanna Know," "Moving On," "Come On Girl," "I Can Be" and "She's Like a Star". The entire album was written, produced and arranged by Cruz. The most successful single was "Come on Girl" which peaked at #5 on the U.K. Singles Chart. In September 2008 the album was officially certified gold by British Phonographic Industry.

His second album “Rokstarr,” was released in October 2009 and peaked at #14 in the U.K. The lead single from the album, "Break Your Heart," reached #1 in the U.K. with a remixed version featuring Ludacris reaching #1 in Canada, the U.S. and Switzerland. In May 2010, "Dirty Picture," featuring Ke$ha was released, peaking at #6 in the U.K. and #10 on the Irish Singles Chart. Cruz released "Dynamite," as the second single in the U.S. and Canada where it has peaked within the Top 3, it has also peaked in the Top 3 in Australia and New Zealand, where it was released as the album's third single and became Taio Cruz's second #1 on the U.K. Singles chart.

“The Rokstarr Collection” a compilation album that combines the biggest hits of Taio’s debut album “Departure” and recent album “Rokstarr” was released in 2010. It debuted at #16 on the U.K. Albums Chart, becoming Cruz's third consecutive Top 20 album.
