November 12th, 2013 9:15am EST
Dolores O'Riordan
Dolores O'Riordan has spoken out for the first time about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child.

The Cranberries singer reveals she was regularly molested by the same man for four years between the ages of eight and twelve after her family moved to a new area in Ireland.

Breaking her silence on her childhood nightmare, she says, "For four years when I was a little girl, I was sexually abused. We moved into a busy housing estate when I was seven. There were tonnes of people around all the time.

"My mother worked a lot to pay the bills and my father (who was left brain damaged after ...

October 8th, 2011 8:30am EDT
Cranberries
The Cranberries are set to return to the charts with their first new album in 10 years.

The Irish rockers, who shot to fame in the 1990s, have not released a record since 2001's Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, but frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan has confirmed they have been back in the studio working on new songs.

She tells Billboard, "It's kind of picking up where we left off... The whole thing was very lovely. It really came together really nicely. A lot of the tracks were written without really thinking about it. They just came."

"I suppose we had more respect for each other and what we...

'Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann' Recap: Live Television Can Be Harsh

January 22nd, 2008 8:30am EST
Carrie Ann
It's another dose of "Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann," and this episode went down as smoothly as chunky peanut butter on dry toast topped with Bubblelicious gum.

Reflecting on song choices last week, I lamented the lack of songs from the new millennium, and I think the producers heard me on this one. Wait, what was that? The Spice Girls' "Spice Up Your Life" came out in 1997? Scratch that. Let me make a Dionne Warwick psychic prediction. Next week's opening song and dance number will most likely be "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba, with a special appearance by The Cranberries. Lo...

Dolores O'Riordan Wasn't Prepared For Fame

April 26th, 2007 10:48am EDT
Dolores O
The Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan was not prepared for the band's success because she had a sheltered upbringing. The singer says she was not mentally prepared for fame and describes attention the Irish rock band attracted was like a "big slap in the head".

She says, "I used to say, 'That's the entertainer, but I'm not that person'. That's how I used to try and deal with it, which isn't very healthy really.

"I often see young people doing that, referring to themselves in the third person. At the time you think that's okay. But later on you go, 'That's crazy.'

"But ...
