Coolio Arrested Over Allegedly Attacking Girlfriend

Rap legend Coolio has been arrested over allegations he was involved in a vicious altercation with his girlfriend.
 
The Gangsta's Paradise singer - real name Artis Ivey, Jr. - was detained by police on April 1st after he was accused of becoming violent during an argument with his partner Anabella Chatman at their home.

He allegedly struck Chatman in the face after bringing home another woman.

According to a police report, obtained by TMZ.com, Coolio is also accused of hitting Chatman with his car as he was driving away from the house.

Coolio's eldest son has been handed a prison sentence of up to 10 years for his part in an armed robbery.

Grtis Ivey, 22, who appeared alongside his rapper dad on reality TV show Coolio's Rules, was accused of breaking into an apartment in Las Vegas last October and threatening the resident with a gun.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of felony robbery earlier this year in exchange for a number of other charges being dropped, and now he has been handed a lengthy prison sentence.

Rapper Coolio's eldest son is facing at least three years and up to 10 years in prison for armed robbery.

As part of a plea agreement, Grtis Ivey, 22, will be handed a minimum of three-and-a-half years behind bars when he is officially sentenced on September 12, according to TMZ.com. However, the judge reserves the right to jail him for up to 10 years.

On Oct. 29, Ivey and his friend Shantrice Wilkerson allegedly broke into an apartment in Las Vegas and threatened the tenant with a gun, forcing him into a bathroom while they ransacked the place for valuables.

Rapper Coolio had another run-in with Las Vegas cops last week when his car was pulled over for having expired registration plates.

The "Gangsta's Paradise" star was pulled over by traffic officers after they noticed his plates were expired. He also had no proof of insurance, but was cited and allowed to go on his way, according to TMZ.com.

The rapper was taken into custody in Sin City in March after he was pulled over in a routine check, and cops discovered he had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest - both for traffic violations.

Rapper Coolio has been arrested and jailed at the same prison where his son is currently incarcerated in Las Vegas.

Cops found two active bench warrants out for his arrest after pulling the hitmaker over during a routine traffic stop in Sin City on Friday morning.

Coolio was taken into custody and hauled off to the Clark County Detention Center, where he is now being held on $5,850 bail.

Ironically, his eldest son has been locked up at the same facility since last autumn after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint.

A Los Angeles judge has issued a bench warrant for rapper Coolio after he failed to show up for a progress report hearing on Monday.

Coolio's lawyer told the judge he had tried to contact his client and had no idea why he wasn't in court, according to TMZ.com.

The "Gangsta's Paradise" hitmaker has been on probation since last year, after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance.
