Elizabeth Cook is a country singer born in Wildwood, Florida in 1972. She is the youngest of 11 siblings and was musically influenced by her parents. Her mother played mandolin and guitar, performing frequently when Cook was a child, while her father played an assortment of string instruments and taught himself the upright bass. Cook’s parents also performed in a local band together. At the age of 9, Cook had formed her own band. 2000 saw the independent release of Cook’s debut album, “The Blue Album.” Despite little success, Cook caught the attention of Warner Bros.
