Judy Collins was born on May 1, 1939 in Seattle Washington and is a singer and songwriter known for her eclectic sound that fuses folk music with show tunes, pop music, and rock and roll. Collins was attracted to music from an early age and studied classical piano with Antonia Brico. She made her first public appearance when she was 13 performing Mozart's “Concerto for Two Pianos.” Collins' love for music was influenced by her father's musical taste as a Seattle radio program host.
