Coheed And Cambria's Drummer Quits

November 3rd, 2011 4:20pm EDT
Coheed And Cambria
Rockers Coheed And Cambria have lost another band mate after parting ways with drummer Chris Pennie, just three months after firing troubled bassist Michael Todd.

The stars dismissed Todd in August, shortly after he was arrested and charged with armed robbery for allegedly holding up a pharmacy in Attleboro, Massachusetts before a Coheed and Cambria gig.

Now, founding members Claudio Sanchez and Travis Stever have lost Pennie, who has announced plans to focus his efforts on other projects, including his work with hard rock bands Return to Earth and Fight Mannequins.

Review: Year Of The Black Rainbow By Coheed And Cambria

April 9th, 2010 3:44pm EDT
Coheed and Cambria Year of the black rainbow review
It's difficult to judge Coheed and Cambria by any kind of conventional standards, because the genre of emo/prog/space rock is pretty much only inhabited by them. Yes, they have influences and you can stretch for comparisons, but they're pretty alone in their own little niche.

Year of the Black Rainbow is the band's fifth disc, but it comes first in the story of Coheed and Cambria, the parents of the story's protagonist, Claudio. Casual fans can overlook the details of the sci-fi plot but still get excited for the catchy choruses. Hardcore fans will want to buy the deluxe version of the alb...

Heaven & Hell Introduces 'The Devil You Know'; Out April 28

April 24th, 2009 4:13pm EDT
Heaven & Hell
After finishing several heralded world tours as Heaven & Hell last summer, Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice were tighter than ever before, both musically and personally. Agreeing that it would be a shame to stop making music together at tours end, the quartet began writing, first in England at Iommi's home studio and later in Los Angeles at Dio's studio. "The band had gotten too good to just walk away," Dio says. "We wanted to show people that we were still capable of giving them new music that measured up to what we'd done in the past."

With that goal in ...

Have You Heard? Celebrity, She Was

April 3rd, 2009 12:19pm EDT
Celebrity, She Was
Celebrity, She Was is a blatantly honest band. They believe in what they are doing with all of their hearts and want to share that sentiment with the world. They want their fans and listeners to share in the musical experience, not matter what.

"Our music is straight from the heart, true of our emotions and very aggressive," the band says. "We're always going to be making the best music possible that stays true to our hearts."

CSW has some pretty oft-kilt roots for a hardcore band. "Four of our members were in an alternative band that our current vocalist roadied for. We began th...
