The Classic Crime is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 2004, the band's current lineup consists of Matt MacDonald (vocals, guitar), Alan Clark (bass), Robert “Cheeze” Negrin (guitar) and Paul “Skip” Erickson (drums, vocals). Despite having charted on the Billboard Christian charts and signing with Tooth & Nail Rcords, the band does not consider themselves to be a Christian band.

Their debut album, “Albatross,” was released by Tooth & Nail in May 2006. The album went to #12 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and #16 on the Christian Albums chart. The band's second full length record, “The Silver Cord” was issued on Tooth & Nail in July 2008. It reached #3 on the Christian Albums chart, #4 on the Hard Rock Albums chart and #123 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

The Classic Crime’s third record, “Vagabonds,” was released in April 2010 on Tooth & Nail. “Vagabonds,” reached #6 on both the Christian Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts and #105 on the Billboard 200. No longer signed to Tooth & Nail Records and with the assistance of a Kickstarter fundraising project, the band released their fourth album, “Phoenix,” in August 2012.
