How does one categorize the Grammy-winning band The Civil Wars?  “That is the questions”, to put in Shakespearean speak.  Regardless of the label you’d give the intriguing duo of Joy Williams or John Paul White, they definitely show their top-rate musicianship on highly anticipated sophomore album, The Civil Wars. The album isn’t quite a modern masterpiece 'per se' (there are some flaws), but all in all is very well executed.

Folk duo The Civil Wars appear to have settled its differences and reunited to record new music after recently scrapping its European tour due to "internal discord."

Band mates John Paul White and Joy Williams were already on the road last month when they called off their live shows, blaming "irreconcilable differences of ambition" for the axe.

In a joint statement, they added: "We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013."

The Civil Wars have cancelled their European tour due to "internal discord" and "irreconcilable differences of ambition" within the band.

The folk duo, comprised of John Paul White and Joy Williams, who became a first-time mom in June, performed in London on Tuesday night, but have called off the remainder of their upcoming dates.

Country duo The Civil Wars have scrapped a series of European shows due to a family illness.

Concerts from March 26 until April 4 have been postponed to allow one of the bandmates to focus on an emergency back home in the U.S. Shows in Germany, France, Sweden and Turkey are among those that will be rescheduled.
