Songs About Death: 10 Songs About Dying Young
Death is dark, depressing subject matter to say the least. Honestly, it’s not the best topic for dinner conversation, dates, or generally happy occasions. Call it what it is – deadly, morbid and definitely buzz kill. Still, there have been plenty of songs that have tackled the topic of dying young. Some are literal, but many are figurative and branch out to various other topics, most prominently love. Here are 10 songs about dying young for your reading pleasure…yeah, that didn’t sound right at all!

1) The Band Perry, “If I Die Young” (The Band Perry, 2010)

57th Annual Grammy Awards: Predicting 10 Of The Most Coveted Awa
Victory, defeat, triumph, breakout, and upsets are some words that can be used to describe the Grammys. Like every awards show, there are winners and then there are losers who probably should have been winners. It goes with the territory, no matter how fortunate or unfortunate it is. The Grammys can be likened as a Super Bowl for musicians, even if being decorated in Grammys isn’t a necessity to cement musicianship or solidify artistic legacy – look at those who historically were never nominated or victorious. Still, writing off music’s most prestigious award is ludicrous in itself. Po...

12 Songs Using The D-Word
No folks, we’re not talking about the closing track off of Toni Braxton & Babyface’s collaborative album Love, Marriage & Divorce. Nope, we’re referring to that earth shattering, intensifying baby curse word. Justin Bieber used it on his Believe album – albeit subtly on “Die In Your Arms” – to exercise his burgeoning manliness. Other artists use it for emphasis – a pronounced, less harsh variant on the f-bomb. Some truly terrific songs have embraced being ‘damnable’, so here’s a list that’ll have you “Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good” as you read it, Nickelback.

1) Mary J. Blige, “Whole D...

Eric Church
Let the “Church” say yes… Corny, I know. But one of country’s rising stars, Eric Church, just continues to rise. The Outsiders gives Church his second no. 1 album, selling a healthy 288,000 copies. Sub 100K weeks are done, at least this week. How does The Outsiders’ numbers compare to the numbers that greeted Chief? Well ole boy “Doubled Up”… or nearly doubled up (145,000 copies). In a slow weak for new releases, well, Church was the bright spot. Compilations continue to do soundly though, as Frozen Soundtrack sold another 100,000 (no. 2) and Now 49 sold 77,000 copies after a no. 1 de...
