AARP Tour: Bands That Shouldn't Be Touring Anymore

June 24th, 2008 10:25am EDT
Steely Dan
Sometimes it seems like a band just doesn't know when to quit. Just imagine how many times you've heard some classic rock DJ try to pawn off front row tickets to Steely Dan, or how many advertisements you've seen for a free REO Speedwagon show at the naval base followed by fireworks and the Glen Hill retirement community brass band. While I'll admit that the willingness of these groups to play every major outdoor amphitheater each summer showcases their tenacity, it doesn't exactly work wonders for their dignity. After a while, playing to half-empty audiences of drunken suburbanites has to ...

April 16th, 2008 11:42am EDT
Bettina
Most people can't remember before the age of 4, but by that time Bettina Bush already had a career in modeling and voiceovers. Always the entertainer, Bettina balanced going to school, being Rainbow Brite, and being a kid, which made for quite the busy schedule. By her teens she was touring the nation as part of a pop group and by her early 20's she hit #4 on the Billboard Hot Single's Chart with her song "She Is." Starpulse caught up with the young singer and get to know a little more about the woman behind all the accomplishments.

You began your career at a very early age. How did yo...

But what does Simpson listen to when she's throwing a party, and what does she do for fun or when she's feeling silly? Starpulse found out by asking the pop star herself, as well as what she thinks about the high standards of beauty set by the media and its affects on women everywhere.

You said in one interview that one thing you love about performing is seeing the joy in people's faces and seeing them sing along to ...

January 2nd, 2007 4:01pm EST
Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera, My Chemical Romance, country trio Rascal Flatts, Toni Braxton and rap group Three 6 Mafia were among the celebrities who performed to over a million attendees on a chilly New York night in Times Square to mark the new year.

The Times Square party set new litter records with city workers picking up more than 3.5 tons of confetti from the streets around New York's party central.

But New York wasn't the only place for celebrity parties staged to welcome in 2007 - Las Vegas also staged a series of starry bashes. Former couple Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson hosted riv...

December 31st, 2006 12:00pm EST
Arctic Monkeys
From Arctic Monkeys to Zutons to Britney's divorce to the most overplayed song of the year (hint: it's not James Blunt's You're Beautiful), 2006 was unmatched in musical diversity. There were albums we didn't even realize came out and artists we didn't even realize were still around. There were reunions and breakups too. Here's a brief summary of 2006: The Year in Music...

The new year kicked off somewhat quietly; however, it was the debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, from the Arctic Monkeys, the band that U.S. critics bashed despite storming to the top of the...
