Singer Luke Bryan has become the first winner at the 2013 American Country Awards (ACA) by taking home the honour for Male Country Music artist.

The Drunk On You hitmaker beat Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, and Jason Aldean to lay claim to the prize, and he also took home the Country Touring Artist award.

The 55-year-old singer is still the queen of pop according to the magazine, earning $125 million from June 2012 to May 2013 thanks to her sell-out 'MDMA Tour', miles ahead of her nearest rival Lady Gaga, who raked in $80 million.

Country singer Kenny Chesney has defended the reputation of his fans after American football player Riley Cooper was filmed using racist language at one of his recent concerts.

The Philadelphia Eagles star was at the centre of a Twitter.com storm on Wednesday (31Aug13) when video footage of him using the N-word at Chesney's gig in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in June (13) went viral.

Caught on camera, an angry Cooper, who appears to embroiled in an argument at the show, can be heard ranting, "I will jump that fence and fight every (N-word) here, bro."

Country music superstar Kenny Chesney has announced a touring hiatus in 2014 so he can concentrate on recording a classic album.

Country star Kenny Chesney was left touched by the mother of a Sandy Hook Elementary massacre victim during a recent low-key visit to Connecticut.

Gold, silver and sequins dominated the red carpet at the Country Music Association (CMA) awards last night. Most singers and celebrities opted for subdued colors with a splash of sparkle.

Carrie Underwood and Hillary Scott opted for gold dresses, while Miranda Lambert had two looks for the evening: a black and silver dress and a fuschia sequined one.

The red carpet standout (and not necessarily in a good way) was Laura Bell Bundy. Her purple and silver ensemble seemed more appropriate for an ice skating event.

Kenny Chesney paid tribute to the strength of Alabama residents during a concert on Wednesday for victims of the recent tornado disasters.

Storms have ripped through the southern states of America in recent weeks and at the end of April, more than 200 people were killed in Alabama.

Country superstar Kenny Chesney is to donate the proceeds from his upcoming Alabama concert to victims of the April tornadoes.
