Cat Power Axes Israel Concert Due To Political Unrest

Singer Cat Power has axed her upcoming concert in Israel due to political unrest in the Middle East.

The star was set to perform in Tel Aviv at the Reading 3 club on Sunday but she's now pulled out of the gig because she feels uncomfortable hitting the stage as tension mounts between the Israeli and Palestinian governments.

Apologizing to fans in a post on Twitter.com, she writes, "DUE TO MUCH CONFUSION IN MY SOUL,PLAYI.NG FOR MY I.SRAELI. FANS W/ (with) SUCH UNREST BETWEEN I.SRAEL&PALESTI.NE I CAN'T PLAY,I FEEL SICK IN MY SPIRIT XX"

Feist Wins Shortlist Music Prize

Canadian singer Leslie Feist is the winner of the Seventh Annual Shortlist Music Prize for her album The Reminder. Feist is the second female artist to win the prize, following Cat Power who won the award last year. Feist was chosen by a panel of five Listmakers: recording artists Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) and Ronnie Vannucci (the Killers), journalist Rev. Moose (CMJ), radio DJ Chris Douridas (KCRW) and the hosts of Hunnypot Internet Radio.

Soundtrack To The Quirky New Film 'Juno' Out January 15

Rhino will release the soundtrack for Juno, a comedy from Fox Searchlight Pictures directed by Jason Reitman (Thank You for Smoking) and written by Diablo Cody.

Opening in select theaters December 5, the film's soundtrack mixes classic artists, such as The Kinks and Mott The Hoople, with indie faves Sonic Youth and Cat Power. The soundtrack is currently available as a download from digital outlets and will be available for purchase in stores January 15.

Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment are proud to announce the initial lineup for the 2006 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The fifth annual three-day camping and music festival will be held on June 16-18, 2006, on the same 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles south of Nashville.
