Cassidy To Release Religious Record For Charity

Rapper Cassidy has joined up with a church in Pennsylvania to release a "faith-based" charity record detailing his relationship with God.

The Hotel hit-maker, real name Barry Reese, is collaborating with Pastor Jomo K. Johnson of Philly Open Air Church in Philadelphia to release the EP, with all proceeds going to two local charities.

In an interview with the Christian Post, Cassidy explains his eight-month stint in prison stemming from murder charges, and a subsequent near-fatal car accident shortly after his 2006 release, brought him closer to his Christian faith.

Rapper Cassidy has been released from jail following his arrest in New Jersey earlier this month.

The Hotel hit-maker, real name Barry Reese, was put behind bars at the Bergen County Jail after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He walked free over the weekend and has now dismissed reports he had landed in trouble after authorities linked him to a murder case - insisting he merely missed a meeting with his probation officer.

Rapper Cassidy has been arrested in New Jersey for violating his probation amid reports he's wanted in connection to a murder case.

The Hotel hit-maker, real name Barry Reese, was taken into custody in his hometown of Hackensack on Saturday after detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department in Pennsylvania notified local cops that there was an open warrant for his arrest.

However, authorities have since revealed Reese is also facing allegations of involvement in a murder and two attempted murders in his native Philadelphia, according to news website NorthJersey.com.

Alicia Keys' husband Swizz Beatz is facing a lawsuit from a songwriter who alleges the producer failed to credit him on a track he worked on for rapper Cassidy.

Antwann Frost filed suit this week claiming he and Swizz Beatz co-produced a track called My Drink 'n My 2 Step in 2007 for the hip-hop star's third album B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story.
