Nick Carter was born January 28, 1980 in Jamestown, New York and rose to fame as a member of the pop boy-band Backstreet Boys. As a child Carter was drawn to singing, acting and performing.

By the time he was 10 years old he was auditioning for television commercials. His feature film break came in the 1990 with the film, “Edward Scissorhands,” where he landed a small background role.

When Carter was 13 years old he joined Backstreet Boys with friends, A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson. The group was an international success during the 1990s, with Carter becoming a teen idol. As the 1990s came to an end and the musical climate began to change, Backstreet Boys went on an indefinite hiatus before re-emerging in 2003.

During Backstreets Boys’ hiatus, Carter began to focus on a solo career and released his debut solo album, “Now Or Never” in 2002. The record peaked at #17 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The album spawned the hits, “Help Me” and “I Got You.”

Carter’s solo career took a backseat when Backstreet Boys began to work on a new album in 2003. Carter continued to perform, tour, and release music with the band for the next decade before producing his second solo album, “I'm Taking Off,” in 2011.
