I grew up listening to both of you. i was born in 78 but what i wanted to say is that i suffered an eating disorder similar and thank god for the people in my life it was handled. I understand her in so many ways but also know that living in the world u lived in was not anything i can compare to. i love both of u with all my heart the music u made together still gives me chills to this day . i only hate it had to end so soon. but in a way it was like elvis we're put here for a reason and that reason for u in my opinion was to make some wonderful music that will live with us forever. Richard i hope u get this and respond. love truly and always listening . melanie | ||

| I love Karen Carpenter, at her peak of success I was primarily a R & B artist and listener. But there was something very special and unique about Karen's voice and the heart felt engaging lyrics of the Carpenters. Her voice seems to melt in my ear like honey in warm tea. I also feel for her being a sensitive Pisces {born March 2,1950} as I am also, how she absorbed needless comments about her weight. My most favorite song by her is "Close to you". God bless her soul and us all, to appreciate each other's guise. | ||
