Elton John Makes Guest Appearance On New Alice In Chains Album
Among the many highlights on "Black Gives Way To Blue", the highly anticipated new album from Alice In Chains, is a special guest performance by Elton John. The two rock legends collaborated on the album's stunning title track, "Black Gives Way To Blue," a heart-stirring tribute to Alice In Chains' late lead singer Layne Staley. Alice In Chains Sign With EMI; Long-Awaited New Album Coming In September
Legendary rock band Alice In Chains has signed an exclusive worldwide deal with EMI's Virgin Records and are gearing up for the release of their first new studio album in more than 10 years. The band and producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters) began recording last October at Studio 606 in Northridge, CA and recently finished mixing at Henson Studios in Hollywood. The highly anticipated album is scheduled for release this September.

Slash is set to form another group for a launch concert at Las Vegas' Red Rock Resort.
The former Guns N' Roses star has recruited Alice In Chains star Jerry Cantrell and Led Zeppelin's Jason Bonham to his Blues Ball Band for the show on Saturday.
Liv Tyler's estranged husband Royston Langdon will also join the trio with other surprise guest artists planned.

The surviving members of Alice In Chains are hitting the road this summer for the first time since former frontman Layne Staley's death from a drug overdose in 2002. The band will reunite for the Nova Rock Festival in Austria on June 28, along with Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Massive Attack.

Alice In Chains Jerry Cantrell Injures Shoulder
Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell is recovering in hospital after injuring his shoulder.
Cantrell, 39, was treated in a Los Angeles hospital last week (December 9) by doctor Stephen Lombardo, who removed bone fragments and repaired cartilage from his left shoulder.
Cantrell's publicist Bob Merlis confirms Cantrell will recover in time for a concert with the surviving members of Alice In Chains and Heart in March 2006. Singer Layne Staley died from a drugs overdose in 2002.
