Kimberly Caldwell Inspired By The 80's For 'On The Weekend' Vide
Since we spoke to her last August, Kimberly Caldwell still hasn't slowed down. The stylish singer has released a video for her most recent single "On The Weekend," is expanding her Stage Presents by Kimberly Caldwell fashion line (she's wearing one of the hair accessories in the photo above), and even gotten engaged! With all that going on, BFTV just had to check in with Kimberly to get the dish on her many happenings.

Like the song it's made for, her video for "On The Weekend" is a fun, playful nod to 80's music; its makeover scene takes a cue from the video for "Legs" by ZZ Top.

Kimberly Caldwell is further proof that there is success after American Idol. The one-time contestant on the FOX singing competition is continuing to move forward, with her new single 'On The Weekend' and hard at work on her next album, which she took a break from to chat with BFTV.

"I'm still in the studio right now. We started 4-5 months ago," she explained of the forthcoming "80's inspired" record, which she calls "the best thing i've ever been a part of musically. [My collaborators] definitely inspired me and challenged me to write bigger and better and out of the box."

Kimberly Caldwell has already shared with fans the inspiration behind tracks "Desperate Girls & Stupid Boys" and "Heart Like Mine" from her upcoming debut Without Regret, and this week gives some perspective on what the song "Naked" really means.
