Gym Class Heroes Announce North American Tour With The Roots And Estelle

Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group Gym Class Heroes have announced details of their upcoming co-headline tour with The Roots.

The North American schedule – which features support from Homeschool/Atlantic Records R&B sensation Estelle – will begin on October 3rd at Baltimore's Rams Head Live! and then traverse the continent through a November 1st finale at Albany, New York's Washington Avenue Armory.

Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on August 15th and 16th. Furthermore, one dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to The Boys & Girls Club of Geneva...

Busta Ryhmes is hoping to collaborate with troubled British singer Amy Winehouse. The rapper is reluctant to work with America's big name artists, preferring to go into the studio with someone relatively new to the music scene.

And he has named Winehouse as his first choice. He says, "Her music is incredible. I am definitely a fan.

"There are a lot of artists I'd like to work with, but I don't want to work with them because of their names, I want to work with them because I know what we'd do together would be something special."

Rapper Missy Elliott's 37th birthday celebrations in New York were cut short at the weekend when her make-up artist was arrested for allegedly assaulting a fan.

Deborah Padilla was taken into police custody after the brawl at the NYC Marquee nightclub, where a waitress at the venue reportedly attempted to get close to party guest Busta Rhymes.

An eyewitness tells the New York Post, "The waitress got into it with the make-up artist, then fists flew.

Rapper Busta Rhymes has spoken out about the "great loss" of a "dear friend" after his former bodyguard was found dead in New York. Jermaine Williams, 35, was found on Wednesday with multiple gunshot wounds in Ozone Park, Queens.

According to reports, he was in Queens visiting his grandmother - but went missing for almost 24 hours.

Police found Williams' body wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of his SUV. Rhymes - real name Trevor Smith - is currently touring Europe and was devastated to hear of the tragic news. Williams worked briefly for the Touch It hitmaker in 2000.

Troubled rapper Busta Rhymes has escaped jail after a judge handed him a fine and three years probation on charges of assault and driving under the influence.

The hip-hop star, real name Trevor Smith, entered a plea of guilty to four separate charges against him as part of a plea deal with authorities in New York, according to TMZ.com.

Two assault charges relate to separate incidents in 2006 after the star was accused of beating fan LeBron James on Randall's Island, New York in July and his driver Eddie Hatchett in December.

Busta Rhymes has settled a $100,000 lawsuit filed by a fan, which claimed the rapper assaulted him. Melvin Smith accused the hip-hop star and his bodyguard Troy Green of assaulting him after he approached Busta Rhymes asking for an autograph in a Manhattan sandwich shop in 2005.

Smith claimed he needed four stitches after he was punched near the eye by the rapper, whose real name is Trevor Smith.
