Miranda Lambert's Pistol Annies 'Begged' To Be On 'Hunger Games' Soundtrack

Miranda Lambert's all-girl group Pistol Annies begged and pleaded to be included in The Hunger Games soundtrack - because they were so inspired by the film's heroine.

The Hell On Heels singers wrote Run Daddy Run, named after a line in Suzanne Collins' hit novel, in honor of Katniss Everdeen, who is played by Jennifer Lawrence in the big screen adaptation.

And Lambert reveals she wouldn't take no for an answer when it came to persuading producer T-Bone Burnett to include the song in the soundtrack.

Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence is heading for the pop charts after recording a new tune for The Hunger Games soundtrack.

The actress, who plays literary heroine Katniss Everdeen in the movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins' bestseller, has teamed up with award-winning producer T Bone Burnett to record Rue's Lullaby, a song her character sings in the film.

And Burnett, who recently produced actor Jeff Bridges' debut album, admits he was charmed by the pretty actress: "It was beautiful and she did great. She's singing great. Killer actor too."

Veteran Actor Jeff Bridges Reunited With his The Big Lebowski castmates John Goodman and Steve Buscemi on Tuesday to celebrate the film's DVD relaunch.

The trio was also joined by co-stars Julianne Moore and John Turturro, as well as soundtrack producer T-Bone Burnett, to mark the cult comedy's release on Blu-ray disc, 13 years after it hit movie theatres.

And Bridges was overjoyed to see his old pals at the New York event.

He says, "All the guys from the movie were there - John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Turturro... It was a ball."

Academy Award nominees Jeff Bridges, Mo'Nique, Gabourey Sidibe and Woody Harrelson got their Oscars weekend off to a great start in Los Angeles on Friday night by picking up top acting prizes at the 25th annual Independent Spirit Awards.

Golden Globe-winning rocker Ryan Bingham missed out on the chance to collect his Best Original Song award at Sunday's ceremony, because he was drinking beer at the bar.

Folk singer Bingham won the prize for "The Weary Kind", the song he wrote with T-Bone Burnett for Jeff Bridges' movie "Crazy Heart".

When the winner was announced, Bingham couldn't be found, so Burnett collected the award alone.

Bingham later revealed he missed his big moment because he'd dashed to the bar for a drink.

He tells Daily Variety, "I just got up for a second."
