Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and it consisted of Benjamin Burnley, Aaron Fink, Mark Klepaski and Chad Szeliga. Their music is most often classified as alternative rock, alternative metal, nu metal, and post-grunge. The group is currently on hiatus due to frontman, Benjamin Burnley's recurring illnesses and is unable to tour for the time being.

Breaking Benjamin signed to Hollywood Records in early 2002 after the success of an independently-released, self-titled EP. The band then released their full-length, major-label debut, "Saturate," in August 2002. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Albums chart and at #136 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

Breaking Benjamin released their second album, "We Are Not Alone," in June 2004. The album featured the leadoff single "So Cold," which reached #2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. "So Cold" spent 37 weeks in the Top 20 of the Billboard chart.

Breaking Benjamin released their third album "Phobia" in August 2006, heading off the album with the single "The Diary of Jane," which made it to #4 on the Modern Rock chart. In May 2009 "Phobia" reached RIAA platinum certification, selling over one million units in the U.S.

“Dear Agony,” their fourth LP was released in 2009 and peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified gold by the RIAA. The single, "I Will Not Bow" debuted at #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, making it the band's highest charting song and first top 40 hit on the chart. It reached #1 on the Billboard Rock Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts and #5 on the Alternative Songs chart.

The band is currently on hiatus due to Burnley's recurring illnesses. Fink and Klepaski have also rejoined their previous band Lifer in wait while Ben recovers, and Szeliga will be touring with the band OurAfter.
